Anti-Al-Shabaab operations intensify in southern Mudug

Mudug – Somalia’s National Army (SNA), supported by local forces, has stepped up operations in parts of southern Mudug over the past couple of days, targeting Al-Shabaab hideouts.

The operations were primarily focused on the suburbs of Aad town, with the forces successfully dislodging Al-Shabaab from large areas of rural territory, including small villages such as Ali Dhabe and others.

SNA commanders overseeing the operation have stated that the operational tempo will remain high, with the goal of liberating areas in rural parts still under the group’s control.

The Somali government has announced that the operations in southern Mudug are in their final stages and are expected to conclude soon.
