Committee to Decide Fate of Nominated Bura Municipality Board Members

Bura Municipality’s New Board Awaits Approval from Garissa County Assembly

Bula Adan – The Garissa County Assembly Committee on Lands and Physical Planning has vetted seven individuals nominated by the executive to the board of Bura Municipality. 

Mohamed Gabow Kharbat, Ibrahim Ismail Khalif, Mahat Moulid bashir, Elias Ahmed Lebi, Abdirauf Osman Abdi, Halima Ali and Nasra Farah Gure whose names were submitted by Governor Nathif Jama to the Clerk of the assembly appeared before the Khadija Idriss led committee.

“The Committee is expected to report back to the house Next week when it resumes its sittings,” read  in parts a dispatch from the assembly. 

Bura Municipality was inaugurated by Governor Nathif Jama, during this years Mashujaa day celebration held in Bura town, Fafi Sub County.

The Municipality becomes the Fourth in the County after Garissa Township, Masalani and Dadaab Municipalities. It is the third to be inaugurated during Governor Nathif’s second term in office.

The Garissa County Assembly Committee on Lands will table their report either approving or disregarding the nominations to the assembly and depending on the outcome a motion will be tabled in the house.

“Approved individuals will be sworn in as the new Board Members of abuts Municipality.”
