DCI Homicide Detectives Recommend Murder Charges in Daniel Muthiani’s Case

Nairobi – After stint investigations into the murder of Daniel Muthiani, known as Sniper, the team of DCI Homicide detectives recommends murder charges against several suspects. 

Vincent Muriithi alias Supuu as been identified as a central figure, implicated from luring the victim to the crime scene to the body’s recovery in Chiakariga, Tharaka Nithi County. 

A police officer and a local DJ are among the four suspects set to face murder charges for their roles in the heinous crime, supported by forensic evidence. 

Mental assessments are scheduled for two key suspects, with arraignment set for January 29, 2024. 

Three others already in custody will also face charges on the same day, while investigations continue for potential additional culprits.

The victim vanished on December 2, 2023, and his severely mutilated remains were discovered on December 16, 2023. 

During a post-mortem examination at Marimanti Level 4 Hospital mortuary in Tharaka Nithi, Meru County, government pathologist Johansen Oduor determined that the cause of death was strangulation. 

The examination revealed marks on the victim’s neck, indicating a lack of oxygen. Additionally, Sniper had fractured ribs and displayed other injuries.
