Garissa residents hold special prayer for Rain 

Hundreds of worshippers on Saturday converged at Garissa primary grounds to hold special prayers for rain.

Garissa Governor Nathif Jama led Muslim clerics and worshippers In seeking divine intervention as the drought continues to ravage in most part of the county.

Speaking  after the end of the prayers, Governor Nathif jama said they had resorted to prayers “since it is only God who can intervene at this critical time”.

“We have come here today after realizing that the drought situation was getting out of hand,” he said.

He added that , “At this critical moment, Leaders around the country are  supposed to lead  faithfuls in seeking intervention in matters that are beyond human understanding,” he said. 

He called upon the leadership of other counties to come together, and see where everyone can fit in helping those in need. 

” It’s very Important to prevent the raising resource based conflict between the herders, and support each other during this hard time.” Jama Jama.

The clerics urged the county and national governments, as well as other stakeholders, to step up relief food distribution and water trucking so no Kenyan dies of hunger.
