Governor Khalif Joins Orphans for Lunch at Mandera Islamic Centre’s Newly Inaugurated Facility

Mandera – Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif has inaugurated the Mandera Islamic Centre’s new dining hall, a project funded through the support of the county government.

The state-of-the-art facility in Mandera town boasts the capacity to accommodate 250 pupils and is accompanied by a modern kitchen, enhancing the overall infrastructure.

Traditionally providing annual cash support, the county government took a distinctive approach this year by presenting a substantial cheque of 12 million for the financial year 2023-2024.

“During the event, I had the privilege of having lunch with 228 orphans at the same venue,” said Khalif.

The governor expressed his gratitude to the department for their invaluable support in making the event memorable.

“Their generosity, demonstrated through the provision of a camel and food for the lunch, plays a vital role in making this occasion memorable and impactful. The department’s commitment to community welfare is commendable, and their support enhances the positive impact of such initiatives,” he added.

Mandera Deputy Governor Dr. Ali Maalim Mohamud and senior county staff joined Governor Khalif in during the Innogoration.

“In our efforts towards enhancing the infrastructure of the Centre, we discussed comprehensive plans, including the procurement of a bus and the installation of perimeter fencing.”
