IEBC panel shortlists candidates for commissioner jobs

The Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission has shortlisted  36 candidates for the positions of commissioners for the electoral body.

In a statement published by the commission’s panel, IEBC has already set the date for Psychometric test and oral interviews which will be done at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi.

Out of a total of 600 applicants, the shortlisted are expected to battle it out since only four commissioner jobs are vacant.

They are expected to carry with them their respective credentials.

“All shortlisted candidates are required to undertake a psychometric test on Wednesday, 30th June, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Kenyatta International Conventional Centre, Nairobi.

“The Shortlisted candidates for the psychometric test are required to bring with them their original national identity card  or passport while for the oral interviews, shortlisted applicants are required to bring with them their original national identity card or passport and the originals of their testimonials  and/or certificates.” Read the statement.

IEBC has also invited members of the public to avail in writing, by memoranda any information of interest with respect to the sustainability of any of the shortlisted candidates to serve as a commissioner.

“It is notified that the selection panel may interview any member of the public who submits a memorandum on any of the shortlisted candidates.” it added.

Among the 36 are former commissioners who seek to reclaim their positions.

They include, Murshid Abdalla who served four times as a commissioner at the electoral body and Issack Hassan who was the chairperson for Former IIEC before it was changed to IEBC, among others.
