Masalani Sub-County Hospital resumes operations, Governor Nathif promises better health services  

Normalcy is slowly returning to Masalani Sub-county Hospital in Ijara, Garissa County, after the county government supplied the Hospital with vital medicine following instructions from Governor Nathif Jama. 

“After four long years of suffering and tribulations, Ijara Level 4 Sub County Hospital today received  supplies from KEMSA,” said a statement from the county government. 

The consignment comprising of esssential pharmaceuticals and non-pharmaceuticals arrived at Masalani and were received by the hospital management.

Masalani is the second sub-county hospital after Iftin to receive supplies from KEMSA this week after a very long hiatus.

“The rest of the sub county hospitals will receive their supplies in the coming days,” read a dispatch from the office of the Governor. 

Governor Nathif has promised deploy new Medical Officers of Health to the Hulugho Sub-county hospital to fill the human resource deficit at the Facility.

Water, power and casual workers have been reinstated at the hospital, according to the county government. This is aimed at kickstarting service delivery to members of the public.

The Nathif Jama administration will be addressing social determinants leading to poor health outcomes in the County, Including unsafe water and sanitation, as well as unhealthy urbanization, gender inequality and low health education.
