A Mombasa blogger, Jimmy Charles Mureithi, has been charged with publishing false information on social media that a woman defrauded Governor Mun’garo.
The man, accused of tarnishing the reputation of the governor, is facing charges under the Computer Misuse and Cybercrime Act of 2018.

The court has ordered his remand for further police investigation, including the analysis of his phones suspected to have been used to commit the alleged offence.
The accused has been directed to appear in court on 11th April 2024, where he would be released on a Ksh 500,000 bond.
