Mogadishu – Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre engaged in a productive meeting on Wednesday as he welcomed the Malaysian High Commissioner to East Africa, Ruzaimi Mohamad, at his office. 

The discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations and fostering cooperation in key sectors.

The leaders addressed a spectrum of vital issues, with a focus on trade, agriculture, fishing, health, and education. In the realm of trade, they deliberated on opportunities for boosting economic ties and expanding market access. 

The agricultural and fishing sectors also took the spotlight, as both nations explored ways to improve agricultural practices and strengthen fisheries.

Furthermore, health and education sectors were on the agenda, with an aim to enhance healthcare systems and educational opportunities in Somalia. 

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre expressed his gratitude for Malaysian support in these domains.

Investment opportunities in Somalia were a highlight of the meeting. Both parties sought ways to foster economic growth by attracting foreign investments to the nation, demonstrating the commitment to progress and prosperity.

The meeting is a significant step towards enhancing the relations between Somalia and Malaysia, opening doors for mutual growth and cooperation in these key areas.
