Tarbaj Constituency Farmers Reap Benefits as New Crop Harvest Begins

Tarbaj – Amidst a scarcity of maize and sorghum in the Kenyan market, farmers in Tarbaj Constituency are celebrating as they start harvesting their first-ever newly planted crop.

The favorable prices not only bring financial gains but also enable farmers to retain grains for household consumption.

MP Hussein Abdi Barre has highlighted farming as a solution to youth unemployment, emphasizing the need for a shift in attitude and focus.

Barre further emphasized the potential wealth that lies within the agricultural sector, calling for a shift in attitude and focus.

He stressed that farming can play a significant role in alleviating the prevailing issue of youth unemployment in the region

Hassan Sadik said a local farmer in Tarbaj said positive trend in the constituency serves as a reminder of the untapped potential within the agricultural sector and the need for continued investment and support to enable its sustainable growth.

“This promising development showcases the wealth potential in agriculture and its role in improving livelihoods,” said Hassan.

Tarbaj constituency, with its vibrant farming community, has the opportunity to become a model for other regions in Kenya, according to Mr. Hassan.

“By harnessing the power of agriculture, the constituency can create a foundation for long-term economic prosperity, while simultaneously addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment.”
