Wajir County Hosts Successful 2nd Annual Quran Competition Promoting Islamic Literacy

Nurturing Islamic Literacy: Wajir County's Commitment to Education and Unity

Deputy Governor Ahmed Muhumed of Wajir County led the successful commissioning of the 2nd Annual Quran Competition at the ICT Hall, reaffirming the county’s commitment to enhancing Islamic literacy within the community.

The event aimed to deepen residents’ understanding and appreciation of the Quran, with a particular focus on nurturing Islamic education.

Mr. Muhumed highlighted the county government’s ongoing investment in Madarassa teachers, emphasizing the importance of providing quality Islamic teachings to future generations.

“Investing in Madarassa teachers uplifts educators and ensures that the youth of Wajir County receive comprehensive Islamic education,” stated Mr. Muhumed.

Discussions at the forum also centered on prioritizing early childhood education to ensure every child has access to Islamic education from a young age.

The Deputy Governor stressed the need for sustained efforts to promote education and enlightenment throughout Wajir County, urging continued support for initiatives aimed at empowering the community and fostering unity through knowledge.

The Quran Competition provided a platform for youth to showcase their talents while reinforcing values such as unity, knowledge, and community spirit. Participants demonstrated their proficiency in Quranic recitation and understanding, highlighting the importance of preserving Islamic heritage.

Sheikh Mohammed Abdullahi commended the event’s significance in promoting Islamic literacy and cultivating a culture of learning within the community.
