Wajir – A comprehensive two-day training program targeting County Executive Committee Members and the county communication team concluded in Wajir.

He commended the partnership for fostering an environment conducive to the professional development of government officials.

During the closing ceremony on Thursday, Mr. Garore urged the trained committee members and communication team to capitalize on the knowledge gained during the sessions.

He emphasized the importance of leveraging this opportunity to propel the County government’s programs forward, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and public engagement.

Participants were equipped with skills to navigate the evolving landscape of communication and ensure that the County’s initiatives and accomplishments are effectively communicated to the public.

Formed in 2013, the partnership for resilience and economic growth (PREG) program is a coordination platform that unites multiple USAID implementing partners along with sub and national government actors, Kenyan institutions, and resiliency and development practitioners from other donors to leverage resources and generate a knowledge management platform.

The project is implemented in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs), home to over 10 million people and over 70 percent of Kenya’s landmass.

The region covers 23 counties and continues to suffer from recurrent drought, human conflict, and a lack of international investments.
