WHO Refutes Accusations of Collusion with Hamas during war in Gaza

Geneva – The World Health Organization (WHO) and has rejected accusations made by Israel during yesterday’s Executive Board meeting.

Israel claimed that WHO is in “collusion” with Hamas and is “turning a blind eye” to the suffering of hostages in Gaza.

Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, addressed the accusations in a statement, labeling them as “false and harmful.”

He expressed concern that such baseless claims not only lack merit but also endanger the lives of WHO staff dedicated to serving the vulnerable in conflict zones.

“As a United Nations agency, WHO is impartial and is working for the health and well-being of all people,” stated Dr. Tedros. The organization emphasizes it remains committed to delivering healthcare without bias or political affiliation.

The Director-General further highlighted the risks posed to WHO personnel who are on the front lines, risking their lives to provide essential health services. Accusations of collusion with any party pose a dual threat by undermining the organization’s reputation and compromising the safety of those working in challenging environments.

WHO said it stands by its principles and dedication to impartiality. It’s mission it said remains promoting the health and well-being of all individuals, irrespective of their political or social affiliations.

The organization said it remains focused on providing essential healthcare services in regions affected by conflict while navigating the complexities of geopolitical tensions.
