Garissa Governor Nathif Jama Meets President Ruto to Discuss Developmental Plans

President Ruto Pledge to Support Big-ticket Projects and Mega Initiatives in Northeastern Region

Nairobi – Garissa Governor Nathif Adam held talks with President William Ruto during a meeting that focused on North Eastern’s developmental initiatives on Saturday. 

Governor Adam disclosed that the meeting with the head of state encompassed national government backing for major projects, particularly focusing on expansive drought-resilient farming schemes.

Governor Nathif shared his contentment with the President’s commitment to executing substantial endeavors for the Northeast region. 

Owing to economic and political neglect, the arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) stand as the most underdeveloped regions in Kenya today.

Governor Jama said notable project highlighted in their conversation was the planned infrastructural advancements for Isiolo-Mandera Road.

President William Ruto is set to visit Garissa to meet the local leadership and the community for a concerted effort to address and prioritize regional concerns. 

Governor Jama expressed optimism about the positive impact of these interactions on the region’s development and emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between the county and national government.
