Gedi Secondary School Shines in KCSE 2023, Defying Odds in Dadaab

Garissa – Gedi Secondary School has recorded a remarkable achievement emerging as an academic beacon with its outstanding performance in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)  2023 exams.

Under the leadership of Principal Kirimi Ndegwa, Gedi Secondary School has defied expectations, proving that determination and resilience can yield exceptional results even in challenging environments. Despite being a little-known institution, Gedi Secondary has made waves with 32 students achieving a remarkable B+ grade in the recent KCSE exams.

This successful results underscores the dedication of the students and also speaks volumes about the unwavering commitment of the teaching staff led by Principal Kirimi Ndegwa. 

Ndegwa’s leadership has played a pivotal role in fostering an environment conducive to learning, where students can excel and reach their full potential.

Abdikhadar Ismael said the reamarkable achievements serves as an inspiration, not only within the confines of Daadab refugee camp but also as a testament to the transformative power of education in even the most challenging circumstances across Kenya.

The guardian of two students at the facility said the accomplishment highlights the importance of providing quality education to all, irrespective of the backdrop.

“We are welcome the fact that the exceptional performance of our school has sparked conversations about the potential within every learning institution, regardless of its size or location,” he added. 

He added that the school has set a noteworthy example, proving that education can be a powerful catalyst for change, even in the most unlikely places.
