Kenyan and Chinese Leaders Forge Stronger Ties in Bilateral Talks

Beijing – Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, engaged in bilateral discussions with Wang Yi, State Councilor, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China and a Member of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). 

The meeting was held in Building 12 at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.

The core focus of the conversation revolved around advancing the enduring relations and strategic partnership between Kenya and China. 

Both leaders reiterated their joint commitment to accelerating collaboration on vital fronts, including infrastructure projects, addressing challenges posed by climate change, and enhancing the trade partnership.

The talks underscored the mutual dedication of both nations to fostering a robust and multifaceted relationship, with a special emphasis on cooperation in key areas of shared interest.

On behalf of the Kenyan government, Mudavadi reiterated that Kenya will continue to adhere unswervingly to the one-China principle and stand with China on issues such as Taiwan and human rights, and said that Kenya looks forward to closer cooperation with China.

Kenya has a high appreciation for the construction of a community with a shared future for all, as well as a series of important global initiatives put forward by China, and it stands ready to participate actively and continuously in these initiatives, he said, adding that Kenya looks forward to learning from China’s development concepts and enhancing the exchange of experience.
