Mandera Senator Gov. Ali Roba Urges Judiciary to Embrace Criticism

Nairobi – Mandera Senator Gov. Ali Roba has made statements addressed to the increasing political polarization in Kenya. In the system he emphasized the prevalent culture of criticism permeating social media. Roba highlighted the trend of politicians, including high-ranking officials, being subjected to derogatory terms, with “thieves” being among the milder epithets.

Senator Roba asserted that the Judiciary is not exempt from such scrutiny and should withstand criticism, using it as an opportunity for self-reflection and improvement. He urged the judiciary to develop resilience against public censure and cautioned against singling out individuals like Ahmednasir, as there are many others ready to continue the critique.

“The judiciary should develop a thick skin for such criticism and stop acting Naive,” asserted Senator Roba, urging the institution to acknowledge the evolving political landscape and adapt accordingly.

Senator Roba addressed the focused criticism on lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi, asserting that targeting individuals won’t halt the broader wave of critique. He argued that there are many akin to Ahmednasir ready to step in and express their opinions.

Targeting Ahmednasir will not stop that criticism because there are many ‘Ahmednasirs’ who will pick up and continue with the criticism,” remarked Senator Roba, advocating for a more comprehensive and resilient approach by the judiciary.

Senator Roba further advocated for an environment that allows individuals like Ahmednasir Abdullahi to pursue their professional roles without unnecessary hindrance. He acknowledged Ahmednasir’s impartiality, emphasizing that he spares no one, including politicians, in his critique.

“Allow Ahmednasir to continue doing what he does best, which is practicing law. Besides, Ahmed spares no one, including politicians; he is who he is, period,” concluded Senator Roba.
