MCK Pushes for Adoption of Multimedia Content Production at Counties

The Power of Social Media Integration in County Communication

The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has advised public communication officers to incorporate the use of multimedia content production to narrate devolution stories.

MCK Director for Media Training and Development Victor Bwire, alluded to the evolving nature of devolution stories and the significance of incorporating multimedia content production to enhance distribution.

“Multimedia has been instrumental in simplifying complex concepts, dividing ideas into multiple digestible pieces”, said Mr Bwire at a Public Communications Officers’ training in Kisii County.

Additionally, he pointed out the power of visual narration in connecting with audiences noting the impact it creates on memory.

“The use of multimedia enables one to create appealing content that is refreshing with commendable memorability”, he stressed.

He acknowledged the impact of social media platforms and asked for integration into the county communication practice.

Digital Media Strategist Lincoln Kamwaro reiterated the effects of social media platforms on communication between the County Government and its intended public.

“The power of digital communication lies in its ability to connect with target audiences easily and professionally”, he emphasised.

The training aims to enhance public communicators with skills in approaches of harnessing digital media to communicate devolution stories. Participants were drawn from Kisii, Nyamira, Homabay and Migori Counties.
