Renowned Lawyer and Advocate, Mohamed Ibrahim Gedi, Passes Away Leaving Legal Community in Mourning

Nairobi – The legal community is in mourning following the sudden demise of Lawyer Mohamed Ibrahim Gedi, a respected figure in the field. The Chief Executive Officer of Northern Advocacy Organization, Abdinassir Adan, expressing grief, stated, “We have lost our colleague and brother.”

The Janaza for Lawyer Gedi is scheduled at Masijid Noor, South C, after the dhur prayers, with the burial to follow at Langata Cemetery on Sunday. 

A partner at Gedi and Associates Advocates, Gedi led a team of qualified professionals dedicated to providing high-quality legal services.

Evans Mugi, grappling with the loss, expressed, “Words cannot express the pain and grief. Rest in peace my dear brother Wakili Gedi Mohamed.”

Gedi’s law firm, situated in upper-hill Nairobi, offered a range of legal services, focusing on Citizenship & Identification, Community / Customary Land Rights, Environmental Justice, Family, Generalist Legal Services, Governance, Accountability & Transparency, and Labor & Employment.

Their clientele included major financial institutions, development finance entities, insurance companies, government bodies, telephone operators, commodity traders, multinationals, manufacturers, farmers, property developers, foreign embassies, missions, and NGOs.

Hassan Ismael extended heartfelt condolences, saying, “Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Wakili Gedi on his sudden passing last night. A friendly soul, may Allah grant him a place in Jannatul Firdaus.”

As the legal community grapples with the loss, Gedi’s contributions to the profession and his impact on clients and colleagues alike are celebrated with deep respect and appreciation.

Mr. Gedi is graduate of Masters of Laws – LLM degree in Public International Law from the University of Aberdeen, Masters of Arts in Diplomacy and Foreign policy from Moi University, Bachelor of Laws LLB (Hons) and Diploma from Kenya school of Law Dip Law (KSL).
