Local authorities, in collaboration with community elders, are tasked with locating and apprehending around 10 known bandits from a neighboring county to address the ongoing threat in the area.

Isiolo County Commissioner, Mr. Geoffrey Omoding, has instructed local elders to collaborate closely with law enforcement to apprehend bandits responsible for the tragic shooting of a third-year student aboard a bus bound for Isiolo town on Monday.

Mr. Omoding stated that approximately 10 bandits from a neighboring county, known to locals, must be tracked down with the assistance of elders to combat the prevailing menace in the area.

The commissioner condemned the incident, urging the public to proactively share information on crime trends to bolster security efforts.

Security has been reinforced in the Gotu area, with Mr. Omoding assuring residents of adequate safety along the Isiolo-Merti road.
