Somalis Mourns the Loss of Visionary Leader Haji Ibrahim Haji Warfa

Ibrahim Haji Warfa : A Pioneer and Community Builder

Langata – Hundreds of family, friends and Somali community from across Nairobi and beyond gathered for the burial of Ibrahim Haji Warfa, a prominent leader and an indispensable pillar of the Kenyan Somali business community. Haji Ibrahim, aged 73, passed away today after a brief illness in a city hospital.

Haji Ibrahim was renowned for his entrepreneurial spirit, notably founding KAH, a global money transfer company. He also made significant contributions as a property developer and a wholesale trader. 

His impact extended far beyond business, as he played a pivotal role in the growth and development of the Eastleigh community.

The burial ceremony brought together a multitude of distinguished figures, including President Ahmed Mohamed Islam of Jubaland State in Somalia, Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan, former Minister and MP for Tarbaj Mohamed Elmi, former Wajir Governor Ahmed Mukhtar, among others.

Prominent religious leaders, led by Sheikh Mahamud Abdi Umal, Sheikh Abdirizak Jiir, and Sheikh Mohamed Shakul, also attended the burial.

The passing of Haji Ibrahim Haji Warfa is a loss deeply felt by the business community in Eastleigh and the Kenyan Somali.
