Wajir Governor Commends Remarkable Achievements of Footballers from the County

Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi has extended heartfelt congratulations to the outstanding footballers of Wajir, particularly the youth who recently secured victory during tournaments in Garissa and Wajir.

Governor Abdullahi in a statement to newsrooms on Friday praised their remarkable achievements, determination and zeal for winning, highlighting the pride they bring to Wajir.

He acknowledged the consistent efforts and sportsmanship of the youth in elevating the community’s reputation.

“I expressed immense gratitude for their dedication and excellence,” he said.

Mr. Abdullahi said the accomplishments Wajir All Stars from Wajir County who were crowned the new champions of the Chapa Dimba North Eastern Region reflect positively on Wajir and serve as an inspiration to others.

Governor Abdullahi lauded Wajir as the home of champions, attributing this title to the ongoing successes and triumphs of its residents.

The 2024 edition of the Wajir Governor’s Super Cup concluded triumphantly with FC Shabah emerging victorious, securing a thrilling win over Al-Anssar FC in a nail-biting penalty shootout, at the Wajir Stadium on Sunday.

He encouraged the youth to continue shining bright and setting examples for their peers in the region.

Football teams in Wajir showcased exemplary spirit and talent within during the tournaments to cultivate unity and resilience among players, thereby fortifying them against radical influences and introduction to substance abuse.
