Bomet County Mourns the Passing of Senator Hillary Sigei’s Father

Bomet – Friends, relatives, and residents of Bomet County gathered to offer condolences to the family of Senator Hillary Sigei on Monday. The gathering marked by shared sorrow saw mourners join Senator Sigei to bid farewell to a revered figure, Mr. Philip Tonui, whose indelible impact extended beyond his family into the broader community.

Mzee Tonui was laid to rest at Kapsio, Chepalungu Constituency, Bomet County. He was eulogized as an industrious force who shaped the lives of his children and the community.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua led a delegation of prominent figures, including Cabinet Secretaries, Governors, Senators, MPs, and MCAs, in expressing their heartfelt condolences. The Deputy President emphasized the significance of unity in comforting the grieving family and paying respects to the departed.

“The loss of a parent, as observed, significantly shakes the foundations of a family,” he said.

Mzee Tonui, the Senator’s father who died last Monday night leaves a legacy that goes beyond familial ties. He was described as a parent who instilled societal values and ensured quality education for his children, he stood as a pillar in the community.
