Nairobi- Muslims in Nairobi gathered at various prayer grounds to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Thousands of faithful congregated in various grounds and mosques across the county to perform the non-obligatory Eid prayers, symbolizing the end of a month-long period of fasting, prayer, and spiritual introspection.

Amidst the joyous celebrations, tight security measures were put in place to ensure the safety and tranquility of the gatherings.

Several police officers were deployed, strategically positioned to maintain order and provide assistance as needed.

Their presence lent a sense of reassurance, allowing worshippers to partake in the festivities with peace of mind.

Eid-ul-Fitr holds immense significance for Muslims worldwide, serving as a time of spiritual renewal, gratitude, and community bonding.

Following the rigorous discipline of Ramadan, during which observers fast from dawn till dusk and engage in increased acts of worship, Eid-ul-Fitr is a moment of joyous celebration and reflection.

CS Duale Thanks President Ruto for Ending Vetting for Muslim ID Cards

Cabinet Secretary for Defense Aden Duale has expressed profound gratitude towards President William Ruto for his unwavering commitment to abolishing the vetting exercise for Muslims seeking Kenyan National Identification cards.

He said the decision was significant for the Muslim community, marking a pivotal moment in their journey towards equal rights and recognition.

Mr. Duale was speaking on Wednesday at Eastleigh High School grounds, where he joined thousands of worshippers for Eid prayers.

CS Duale lauded President Ruto for his empathetic stance, recognizing the hurdles faced by Muslims when obtaining crucial identification documents.

The removal of the vetting process will streamline the administrative procedures to uphold principles of inclusivity and fairness.

He encouraged Muslims across Kenya to fervently pray for peace, both within the nation and across the globe.

CS Duale has commended President William Ruto for his proactive measures in facilitating the issuance of passports for Muslims intending to participate in Hajj, the sacred pilgrimage to Mecca.

“By prioritizing the needs of the Muslim population, President Ruto has demonstrated a commitment to ensuring accessibility and convenience for all citizens, irrespective of their religious beliefs,” he said.

President Ruto’s announcement, made during an Iftar dinner at State House on Monday, outlined plans to eliminate vetting requirements starting May 1st, in a bid to prevent discrimination against individuals based on religion or region.

CS Duale urged the Muslim community to embrace this positive change wholeheartedly and to continue advocating for their rights with diligence and perseverance.

Garissa Township Member of Parliament Rtd. Maj. Dekow M. Barrow joined thousands of worshippers Muslims in Garissa to mark Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers at the Rtd General Mohamud Idd ground.

The event brought together Muslims from all walks of life to celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The atmosphere at the prayer ground was filled with a sense of unity and joy as worshippers gathered to offer their prayers and exchange warm greetings of “Eid Mubarak”.

The prayers were led by prominent religious leaders, who delivered inspiring sermons and reminders of the importance of faith, compassion, and unity.

MP Dekow, in his address to the congregation, emphasized the values of peace, tolerance, and harmony, urging the community to uphold these principles in their daily lives.

Muslims mark Eid-Ul- Fitr prayers at Orahey grounds in Wajir Municipality

Deputy Governor Ahmed Muhumed marked the joyous occasion of Eidul-Fitri alongside the residents of Wajir at Orahey ground.

Mr. Muhumed extended heartfelt wishes of Eidul-Mubarak to the congregants and emphasized the significance of compassion towards the less fortunate.

Encouraging generosity, he urged the people of Wajir to share whatever resources they could spare with those in need, embodying the true essence of the holy day.

Eidul-Fitri, also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. It is a time for Muslims worldwide to come together in prayer, reflection, and celebration.

Addressing the gathered crowd, Deputy Governor Muhumed conveyed warm greetings and blessings for Eidul-Fitri.

Mombasa Leaders Join Muslims for Eid-ul-Fitr Celebrations

Mombasa  – Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir and his predecessor Hassan Ali Joho, prominent figures in the coastal region of Kenya, united with the Muslim community to observe Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday. The leaders, alongside fellow Muslim faithful, congregated at the Ummul Kulthum Mosque grounds in Mombasa to mark the end of Ramadan with prayers and festivities.
