President William Ruto Attends High-Level Meeting on COP28 at UAE Mission to the UN

New York – President William Ruto participated in a significant gathering on Sunday, hosted at the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Mission to the United Nations in New York. 

The meeting, led by COP28 President and UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, focused on pivotal discussions regarding the upcoming 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) on climate change.

Amid a backdrop of global concerns about environmental challenges, the meeting drew high-level delegates and leaders from around the world. 

President Ruto’s reiterated Kenya’s strong commitment to addressing climate change and its dedication to contributing constructively to COP28 discussions.

During the meeting, President Al Jaber, who will preside over COP28, underscored the urgency of tackling climate change, emphasizing the need for coordinated international efforts. 

He commended President Ruto for Kenya’s proactive stance on climate issues and expressed a desire for continued collaboration in the lead-up to the conference.

Dr. Ruto affirmed Kenya’s commitment to climate action and its readiness to engage in substantive discussions at COP28. 

He highlighted Kenya’s efforts in sustainable development, renewable energy, and conservation, emphasizing the country’s dedication to reducing carbon emissions and promoting a greener future.
